Another break from previous weeks: Christie didn't dominate the television broadcast of Sunday's game, so nobody saw awkward hugs if they occurred. Fox director Rich Russo had warned the network was unlikely to feature antics of Christie and Jones because of camera access logistics in Green Bay and weather considerations.

"It may very well be impossible to see (what's happening in the owner's box),'' Russo told the New York Daily News.

And for that I will give him a bit of respect.

New Jersey is loaded with fans of the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. Hell half the players of those teams probably live in New Jersey and yet Christie spits on them and their fans.

I understand that he is a lifelong Cowboys fan. Guess what I am a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan but I still don't go spitting on the Philadelphia Phillies. I've learned to be fans of both and check my attitude when the two teams meet up. Of course the Phillies vs. Reds isn't anything like an Eagles/Cowboys or Giants/Cowboys game. But when Christie could have shown class and respect for the people of New Jersey instead he pissed on them. But he does that alot yet they vote for him. He should be grateful his elections were in off years.

Glad you're here! I know very nearly NOTHING about sports, but even I know enough to realize one ought to support ONE'S OWN LOCAL TEAMS. Or, in absence of one's own team, then at least root for your "next-door neighbor's" team. Doesn't he have Pennsylvania teams or New York City teams to cheer for? They're a lot closer to New Jersey than a team from DALLAS, forcryingoutloud. Especially if one aspires to win a lot of votes for a big job roughly two years from now. I wouldn't think one would DARE consider doing otherwise. Shouldn't he make sure he's seen and making a big deal about it - at, say, Princeton games or something? Or, hell, hold off and wait for basketball season.

his reasoning for not supporting the Giants was sort of odd. He said something like he didn't support his dad's favorite team (the Giants) at the time because he didn't want to be sitting around crying or something. Basically, he seemed to get into football by rooting for whoever that is a winner.

Then I turned 14.

Actually I was a Cowboys fan until the moment they fired Tom Landry. I realized Landry's time as the Cowboy's head coach was coming to an end. But Landry was such a longtime institution to the Cowboy's they should have done something else other than fire him - he deserved better respect than that. A classier owner would have bumped Landry upstairs or allowed Landry to 'retire' himself. But one thing Cowboy's Jerry Jones is not and that is classy.

At the time I had moved to the Philadelphia area and was dating someone from a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan (along with a family of huge Eagles fans) so it was just natural that I moved to supporting the Eagles. Before I had switched I had kinda downplayed to him and his family that I was even a Cowboy's fan. It was like how i was with the Reds and Phillies where I liked both teams but when no one was around I'd cheer on the outside team. (but then again no rivally against the Cincinnati Reds here in Philly).

Today I am still a huge Reds fan (I even survived Marge Schott who was a huge asshole but never ever as bad as Jerry Jones but pretty darn close) but I love the Phillies too. But I can't stand the Cowboys and honestly, it's due to Jerry Jones.

I doubt any fan of the Cowboys including myself, who was a fan way back when, would argue that Jones should have kept Landry around. The team was doing poorly and Landry' glory days were long behind him. But Landry was a legend and deserved better than what Jones had done. A classy owner would have found a way to replace Landry without firing him but but moving him into a special 'upstairs managment position' or at least giving Landry the option to retire first.

I had no loyalties to the Cowboys and I was living in Philadelphia Eagles terratory surrounded by friends and family who were big fans. The switch was a no-brainer.

It happens every game.

That call was so bad that I'll bet that the NFL will change the rule for next season.

It's a stupid rule, and a stupid process.

But nothing will change the call so enjoy your tainted victory.
