The Republicans expected a "Lame Duck." Instead they got a "Determined Eagle."

This is a species of President they never expected to encounter in Washington during the last two years of a Democratic presidency, and it is obviously one they were not in the slightest prepared to deal with.

presidency. We cannot afford to give Republicans even the tiniest victory. I have no problem waiting two years - before we retake the Senate and keep the White House - for new policy because the policies the Republicans will try to jam through won't benefit me and mine or most Americans, for that matter, and Republicans won't allow any policies that do benefit us, pass.

4. I doubt he sees this as "payback time"

But rather a time where he has nothing further to fear from them.

There are no further threats of restraints on his actions that they can toss in his path.

Their arsenal is known, mostly already used, and therefore already compromised.

5. Talons out, not as in payback time but rather being more tenacious and determined.

President Obama doesn't appear to be interested in doing any payback. He's only interested in improving this country and leaving it in a better position than when he first took office. That's been his M.O. from the get-go.

This won't be two years of a "lame-duck president" as corporate media are all already touting, but rather a lame-duck Congress now that the American people have foolishly given those lazy do-nothings more power. In spite of this grand show of stupidity by the American people, it appears that the president will continue to work hard for us and will do and use anything within his power as the president toward that end.

6. Corporate media, even to this day, regurgitate that lie, too.

And yet, they are slow to report President Clinton's high approval ratings toward the end of his second term while continuing to claim that we have a biased "liberal media". My god, they worked hard to fool the American people in favor of Republicans, and they continue to do it today. Unfortunately for them, the younger demographic is no longer dependent on their pro-corporate biased reporting, and get their news from the interwebs and shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. That's why Republicans have been working hard to pass bills to take control of the Intertubes. They want to control the only avenue that's still unbiased, and where that precious demographic is getting their news updates from.
