Singer and social activist Joan Baez was born in Staten Island, New York. Her rendition of the labor anthem "Joe Hill" was a highlight of the historic 1969 Woodstock music festival.

It is interesting how many children born during the war years would grow up and have to face a war of their own. You can hear the the struggles of that time in the music.

one of the best times of my life, peace. love and rock and roll (only some of the oldies weren't happy when Dylan plugged in.)
