Heads up for those of you doing your own taxes this year:

I work in a public library, and we got a notification from the IRS that due to Congressional budget cuts, tax instruction booklets will no longer be shipped to many distribution locations, such as your local library. You're going to have to either download the instruction books from irs.gov, or you're going to have to order copies of the instruction books you need by mail.

Thanks a lot, Congressional Rethugs. I'm sure the elderly, the computer illiterate, people who can't afford a decent internet connection, and those living where you can't get reliable high speed internet will thank you.

2. Will libraries have booklets for refernce only? Would make sense to send at least one copy to each

location that used to be a distribution point for use by some folks to reference within the library at least
but don't know what kind a budget they are trying to slash

I'll run it by my supervisor next week.... I know it would cost us a bunch in paper and toner, but having a reference copy is a good idea...

taxes in the 60s that there weren't IRS booklets at the library.

You'd never know the US was richer than ever before in history.
