How people in (some) Muslim countries prefer women to dress in public. Pew polls

I added (some) in the header because the polls are limited to few. Disclaimer: I believe that adults should dress as they please.

1. Well that is some depressing data.

The only thing I find surprising is that 47% of Saudis think that it is up to the individual woman. I would have guessed much lower.

2. I was surprised at how low it was in Egypt.

It would be interesting to see how the stats break down between men and women opinions in both polls.

5. I was thinking that after the revolution things might have changed.

I just googled Dress code laws in Egypt and apparently they're lax. But, women are advised to be very "conservative" (in western dress) in dress if visiting, particularly in rural areas outside of the cities. And, it's mostly advised because of young men and their possible comments and/or advances.

4. How do I know that "Woman 1" is a woman?

nb - it is nice to see that most Saudis have moved progressively to "Woman 2"
