"Realty" Show in the same breath as the word honest. There is nothing honest about any "reality" show.

And to answer your question, no; if true to reality show standards it would be so hyped up as to be unbelievable, and if true to life the ratings would be in the cellar.

that the paris hiltons of the world can laze about, waste time and money, and need never care or worry for a thing.

people not only have no problem with that, but they enjoy watching it, covetously.

there's probably not quite enough that shows poor people actually working hard, very hard, to get nowhere, but it's not like that's a real hidden secret. it takes only a moment's reflection to realize that if you can't afford to eat out, you have to prepare all your meals yourself and clean up after yourself; and if your job doesn't pay much per hour, you need more jobs and/or more hours; and if you can't afford a car then you have to rely on public transportation, which, at a minimum, makes your effective commute time longer.
