It is protected speech. They have the right to print it. But the some may also argue while the reaction was murder, and not protected speech - it may be an expression of free speech. Doesn't mean the murderers get to duck all the charges leveled.

publish stuff most of us wouldn't use to wipe our feet on. This is not in any way meant to justify any sort of violent reaction.


On edit - maybe we do need jerks to say rude things in order to prove we aren't kidding about freedom of speech, freedom of the press.
