Telegraph reports terror suspect sighting northeast of Paris (1 hour ago)

14.27 Two armed men have been reportedly spotted in the woods outside Villers-Cotterets.

Our photographer Heathcliffe O'Malley, who is on the N2 outside of Paris, near the village of Longpont, has just spoken to a man who was warned to leave a local restaurant "because the police were coming".

The restaurant owner said that he had been told "two armed men are in the woods".

Police are gathering in what looks like a farmhouse, outside the village.

1. I read that the 16 y/o surrendered,

can't remember where, but that he walked into a police station himself? Has anyone else heard that?

2. NPR reported one suspect turned himself in when his name appeared on social media.

Not sure of his age.

3. What I did hear was

that he is 18 years old and when he heard his name mentioned on social media and he knew he didn't have anything to do with it, he turned himself in.

He surrendered somewhere outside of Paris.

7. The story seems to be that there were three suspects being sought

One turned himself in. The two others -- brothers -- were identified from IDs left in the car and are still on the loose.

8. It is pretty damn scary that

two of them are still out there. I don't think that they would kill anyone else, as they targeted that magazine specifically. But you just never know.

9. They killed a muslim policeman after the shootup. I wouldn't assume anyone was safe...

this goes way beyond people being offended at the magazine. Senseless killing for the sake of killing. Terrorism that may spark violence against Muslims (or people thought to be Muslim) that just want to go about their lives and hurt no one.

11. I just read this:

"Several searches" were conducted at the home of Said Kouachi and in several members of his family and "nine people are currently placed in custody" , according to Place Beauvau. A young man of 18, a family member of the two suspects on suspicion of having participated in the attack, was questioned and no charges were brought against him.
