(88,117 posts)I have seen so many today excusing this on the grounds of hurt feelings. No way does that excuse mass murder ever.

(81,860 posts)I think these guys would use any excuse to kill people. The cartoon was the latest one.

(12,321 posts)kill them for cartoons or any other puny excuse that they can come up with. The terrorists want to be in control and have all the power. No free speech, no freedom of religion, no education, no rights for women.
It's sick, and revolting, and frightening. I feel so bad for the slaughtered peoples' loved ones---and for all of France.

(35,961 posts)Where have you been reading that? It'd be a weird world if hurt feelings was considered justification for brutally murdering innocent people.

(88,117 posts)Mostly the theme I mention has been that the cartoonist was ridiculing islam too much. We can agree or disagree on that part, but some have taken empathy a little too far IMO.
I probably didn't word it well so late at night.

(35,961 posts)That's cool. I sometimes post things early in the morning before my wake up cuppa and go back and read and think I didn't word it well. fwiw, I agree with you on the theme yr talking about with the cartoonist ridiculing Islam too much. From what I've seen of the publication it's a less funny version of South Park or Family Guy and takes swipes at everything.

(65,616 posts)that believes in religious laws over free speech. These radical groups didn't kill over feelings - they killed because their insane laws tell them to kill anyone that would dis their prophet.
Of course this makes it very hard for the secular groups (that are Muslim) that aren't fanatics and would never kill someone over insane religious laws. If they were not broad brushed with these cults before, they will be now.
