No matter what, the cartoon terrorists will not be given the death penalty.

I find it the height of civilized society to think that these murderers of twelve innocent people will never bring the government down to their level by imposing death as a sentence. The society as a whole is capable of rising above the barbarity of the criminals.

That said, they murdered cops and any cops that are in a situation where they are attempting to detain these terrorists will have that on their mind.

My guess is, when the circle closes in on them, they will choose to go out firing weapons. And the cops will have little to no choice but to accommodate their desires by putting them down like the animals they behaved as.

Given the description of the suspect, you do have to admit it is highly likely he'll be taken alive.

One targeting french people by Muslims, the other targeting black people by, presumably, White Americans. Why is the on in France worthy of so much more ink?

It's a reasonable question.

which is by no means a certainty. The French can be quite pragmatic and ruthless when it suits them and even if no one actually orders them to be shot on sight, that doesn't mean whoever catches up with them first won't just kill them at the slightest indication they might resist. Killing a police officer lying on the ground begging for mercy isn't something that is going to make other other police inclined to give them much of a chance.

Yes, we'd never do anything so barbaric. Just ask suspected terrorists Anwar al-Awlak and his 16 yr old son.

You think the French government makes a practice of having people extrajudicially murdered?

There are some countries that do that - Israel and Russia leap to mind, and arguably the USA as well - but France?

It might not be these scum, but I am sure at some point some "Direct Action" contingent of the French Government is going to execute some people via drone, or sniper for this crime. And I won't loose a bit of sleep for any of the filth they do kill.
