Teabaggers, people who say "we protect our own", a few people who post here even. But, I think we get wrapped in our own little world too much at times and forget the bigger picture. So just to remind everyone, there are stupid people EVERYWHERE in this World. We have our version of Teh stupid (see: FR), and other countries have their own. Take for example Saudi Arabia. While the religious police are one version of their idiocy, I would like to present this as well.

Just keep this in mind when you are having thoughts like "America is going to hell" or something similar to that...

4. The drifting....

when I was recently in the Portland OR area, I saw some drifters, they had taken over a very small little cul-de-sac of dirt off the main driving path through a public park. I thought, way cool!, They have a safe place to drift. Well, yeah/no. Within just a few minutes of my arrival nearby, police showed up and booted them.

At that point I thought, MORONS! At least where they were, they were cleanly out of the way, interfering with no one except as a distraction, but the road passing by was a park road with a 5mph speed so it's not like any accidents from rubbernecking was going to occur. So the police effectively force these otherwise seemingly attentive folks out into the public streets.

Granted not to this point yet, but just as with skateboards and motocross etc, it seems best to just go ahead and build/provide a somewhat safe place for such rather than forcing into the public arena where bystanders are at a risk they didn't want to be a part of.
