(49,999 posts)Worse implies that it's bad now.

(25,592 posts)Several hundreds of thousands, plus, in this country alone, would have a argument for you.
Lack of Living Wage Jobs, highest cost for health care in the world, our multiple wars in 3rd world countries against innocents, U.S. Government spying us -U.S. Citizens, War Criminals walking around loose, Republicans on the record as having their highest goal to bring down the Head of State of THIS country, wholesale election frauds since 2000, war against women, highest percentage of prison rate per population in the world, destruction of safety net programs, Social Security on the block, Medicare basically junk. And that is barely starting with how bad it is now.

(44,130 posts)I'm one of those several hundreds of thousands.
I'm just saying from a marketing point of view, it's the equivalent of showing a photo of Obama that says "I suck, but other guy sucks more".
NDAA?
300% increase in drone use?
Selling weapons to Mexican drug dealers?
Afghanistan atrocities?
Trashing of "Due Process"?
Better than Bush wasn't hard to accomplish. There's still a lot to be done.

(788 posts)but that's only because the technology has improved so much since
it first came online under der bush.
If it had been this reliable in 2001, bush would have had them hunting
down and killing everything that moved.
And you do realize that most of the weapons sold to Mexican drug lords
are being bought by red necks in the south and then passed over the
boarder......free markets in action, says the KKK.

(1,831 posts)That Obama is miles better than Bush. But technology aside, drone assasinations have exploded here, to (knowingly) include US citizens in rare instances.
And KKK policy statements aside, some of those weapons were sold by ATF agents. No excuses. I'm not stupid (repub.) enough to believe that Prez Obama personally handled those operations. But he has NOT condemned them either. And that doesn't even take into account the watering down/outright loss of rights through negative legislation, and other points I made about his turn in the White House.
We have a ways to go before enlightened progress will have taken hold.

(15,689 posts)You'd have to go back a ways to find a Democratic Party that aspired to better messages and mottoes than that.

(25,029 posts)Of course some areas are over 50% better, some are in that 3-5%, a few are the same or even an ongoing game of oneupmanship.
Unfortunately for the quality of national debate there are about zero they are actually worse on and almost as few or hell, maybe less that there is night and day difference on which creates a very narrow set of possible policies and cripples accountability severely.
It is also bothersome that much of the difference is because the opposition keeps getting more extreme.
The Turd Way expected to have met "in the middle" before now or made out, I think they are more than happy to chase the TeaPubliKlans all the way into fascism, keeping voter captive by the marginal difference they can maintain while the goalposts keep getting closer.

(25,029 posts)Our choices are about how much worse how quickly and having resources and systems in place that allow things to get better or at least stop growing worse in some foreseeable time.
