I am not so sure Veterans are more conservative than the general population. I don't personally know any though. The ones I do run into seem to be about a 50/50 split I think they get more liberal as they get older and start understanding what Republicans do to them.

I read somewhere that they've researched how the visuals should work to catch the vision. I know if I sit in an airport waiting area and fux is on the visual distraction causes my very liberal eyeballs to swerve to catch the action/bimbo.

Old men (and I'm there) are particularly attracted to bouffant blond on top of tanned fleshy bits with a lot of bobbing and weaving.

The rest of the patients just sat there -like they had been released. When they finally came in to change the channel with the remote and realized it was off -I had the last laugh! I should have cut the cord!

...I talk to the manager on duty and ask that the channel be changed to something quiter. Usually there is someone ranting and raving so it isn't too hard to make the case that it is disturbing and it would be better to have something like cnn on. I usually get positive results.

I also used to have stickers that said Turn FOX Off. I got them from The Color of Change . If I don't get positive results I could plaster one right on the screen. But "it would be wrong."

Gee, wonder what happened to all my stickers? I used to have so many of them....

Nearly gagged when I was there. An actual "fox Store" in the Houston Airport. Holy sweet dumb-me-down. Most of the TV's were tuned in to fox-nonsense, but the store was what took the cake. No wonder there are so many dumb ass folks down there. Maybe that's a question of which comes first, the chicken or the egg?

cable news networks. I have the DISH "Smartpack" that should be called "Americas Worst 55". Right now it doesn't suck as much as usual because FOX "News" is off for now.

I suspect a lot of businesses only have comparable service so they wouldn't have MSNBC or CNN anyway.

That's why comparing Billy OReilly ratings to Rachel Maddow's is useless until accessability is factored in.

I once read that Murdock/Fox actually "donated" tvs to public places and institutions (airports, military bases) with the stipulation that they be tuned to fox news. If this is true, it's disgraceful that fox propaganda is so easily (and cheaply) spewed in our tax supported
public spaces and institutions.

Good to see that Dish is finally charging Fox news. Hope Dish wins, Faux has to pay/charge customers, and their viewers
drops drastically. I also call Directtv periodically to complain that FoxNews ("Hate Tv&quot automatically appears on my channels without my approval or ordering it.

If Fox News is playing anywhere I am, I always politely ask that the channel be changed to less "upsetting" fare. Never had a problem.

If it's an appointment, I usually bring a book or headphones so I can watch something on my phone.

I don't expect a place of business to set their TV around my viewing habits.

It doesn't hurt to ask them to change the channel but, if they don't, find something else to do or find another place to do business.

If it's a restaurant, I am there to eat, not watch TV.

It really doesn't bother me what's on the TV.

(You might be safer using TV-B-GONE)

I don't go into any restaurant/bar that makes listening to any TV a requirement for having a meal/drink. I actually like having a chance to talk to my tablemates or chat up someone else sitting next to me at a bar.

Besides, the types of establishments that would show fux or sports programmings aren't high on my list of places to be. And I enjoy real news and real sports - whatever they are nowadays.
