This time they have a "customer service representative" that says a deal lasts for a year, but another says it only lasts for 3 months.

(14,449 posts)Moved and Verizon wasn't available. I was so nervous about the switch, but have come to really find Comcast better. Nicest people at the office and on the phone so far anyway.

(63,215 posts)I've never talked to a bad customer service rep. For a while, they answered the phone with the hopelessly (and off-puttingly) artificial "with whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?" but that seems to have passed.
Comcast is effectively the only game in town, so it's not as though I have a choice. They charge a good deal more than I think is reasonable for internet that's substantially faster than I need (more than 3X the download speed I would use even at peak capacity), but the next contender charges half as much but only offers 20MBPS, which isn't fast enough.
I'm aware that their macroscopic business practices are abhorrent, but the individual employees are just fine as far as I can tell.

(2,273 posts)And have never had a problem with them, I have moved 3 times and had to cancel my subscription once while I was out of the US for a year. I hear all these horror stories and wonder what is up, I did have Cox when I lived in AZ and that was not terrible but not as great as my service with Comcast.

(46,335 posts)I have a friend in Baltimore, he set up 9 appointments to have Comcast installed, they never showed up at any of them.
I have Charter Cablevision, I've had only good things to say about them.
