How about a forum for Name Removed posts called "The Sewer"?

It doesn't have to be called "The Sewer", though that would be an accurate description of the content.

Posts that get posters banned can be sent there, for viewing purposes only.

Personally, I am always curious what gets people banned, and what action I have missed. Recently I've had several Name Removed posts aimed at me, and I want to know what they were!

I am one who likes to see hidden posts, and I am allowed to do that here already.

By putting them in a separate forum, only those that truly want to see them would go there to do so, and nobody else would be required to see them. By not allowing replies moderators and juries wouldn't be second-guessed, and it wouldn't turn into Meta.

What do you think? Any one else interested in seeing the Name Removed posts, or does this seem like a bad idea?

Are you serious?

If you want to read the drivel that passes for conservative "insight" these days, go out there and read youtube comments or join freerepublic.

if some wingnut gets a post removed responding to me, I couldn't give two fucks to read the same shit 1500 other conservative trolls have posted somewhere else in that last half second.

You open up this place to more trolls who will do ANYTHING to be a part of this site - as much as they claim to hate it.

You see, they think they are 'SKOOLING' us, and that somehow if they keep at it, we will see the light of their glorious ignorance.

A place like you describe would just encourage them even more.

I come here for a BREAK from that SHIT. I don't want it here - ANYWHERE.

Like I said, if you really are jonesing for teabagging, rightie tightie inanity, go out there and find it....EVERYWHERE BUT HERE.

All caps, my own.

And Happy Fucking New Year, and Get Off My Lawn!

Personally, META should be brought back, but that is kind of a side point, because there would be need for a place to discuss those hidden posts. I hate to burst your bubble, but the vast majority of "deleted posts" from "name removed" are innocuous and not controversial nor interesting at all. For those who do not know, if a poster has under 10 posts and s/he is banned, all posts are deleted and the moniker becomes "name removed." If the person is under 100 posts, then all posts in the past 24 hours fall into the "name removed" and deleted posts. Sometimes, posters are banned, not because of a post, per se, but because the admins or MIRT recognize a troll (disruptor), zombie (someone who has already been banned before), or spammer (self explanatory). So, in reality, most posts you (in general), are missing are usually boring "+1", "yup!, I agree!", and "Thanks for the information." type of posts.

I am ambivalent because there are some posts, which, while I still agree with transparency in hidden posts, really are nasty, vile, completely devoid of redeeming value, and should not be viewed because all it does is hurt good members. It is true many of us let things roll off our backs and we are adults, but sometimes, seeing some of the nasty, hate-filled remarks, even if only from trolls, is still painful and, I see no reason to inflict that pain on others here. It is walking the fine edge of a sword. There have been remarks which upset members of MIRT greatly just having to read them! Imagine the impact on the entire membership.

So, in conclusion, most...seriously...most of the 'deleted posts' aren't anything special at all, in actuality, they are quite dull. Sure, every now and again, there are some humdingers, but this is really, well, not uncommon, but not really common either.

I miss Meta. We could go at each other, those of us who are on opposite sides of some issues. It was a round and round thing that never went anywhere, but still, it at least let some of us say what we really wanted to say to each other without worrying so much about hides.

I can just imagine what they are saying about me. One I actually got to see, before it was removed, and it was disgusting. I also look at hidden posts, but having a whole place for them may just encourage haters to want to post more.

As it is,this Year, the Republicans take over the House and Senate. I think that may encourage the trolls to come out, saying..."See? We are a majority, and you are not.."

Not sure how I would feel about a HATERS club that some might aspire to end up in, like a Hall of Fame.

1. You could buy the jury. Maybe a few bucks to each juror.
2. In lieu of punishment, you would have to crawl on your belly and beg the people you offended. They would then hurl insults at you, telling you what a disgusting piece of human garbage you were/are.
3. Equip the members of DU with an embedded chip. If you get too nasty, Skinner shocks the shit out of you.

That way, what is and what isn't a community standard here. For example, posting thinly veiled racist and sexist bullshit is within the standards of the community as a difference of opinion, but calling someone a racist or a sexist isn't because the latter is a "personal attack." I find this confusing.
