New Year's Resolution(s)

Generally I don't make resolutions because I know myself that well... if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it. Why make silly proclamations that I'll probably not keep? This year that changes and I have one resolution for the new year:

To see more of these United States or, in general, travel more.

I'm almost 44 (that's about mid-life in my family--if not past mid-life) and have never been further west than Kansas and I've never had a passport (that will also change in the new year). So I guess I have two resolutions--travel more and get a passport.

My first trip of the year has already been planned--I'll be visiting The Salton Sea in California in February (photography trip).

What is your new year's resolution (if you have any)?

On edit:

Oh, and happy new year DU!

to be able to travel across the country and see many different states. I'd love to do that some day myself; I'm curious to see what it's like in states such as Montana, Wyoming, and Maine.
One NY resolution is have is to get rid of my nervousness behind the wheel, and work towards getting a license. Even though I stay in a small town during the school semester and it is fairly easy to walk/bike around town, I envy guys around my age who can get from point A to point B quicker and anytime they want, and being able to play their music in their rides. Not to mention it would be easier for me to carry groceries around in a car instead of using carry handles for my bags.
Another one I have is to fly to Ukraine possibly near the end of this year to visit a friend I met online. I'm hoping that things calm down there by then, and I already waited in long lines to get my passport. This would be my first time not only flying by myself, but also flying abroad. I also don't speak Russian (which is the main language of Eastern Ukraine), but there is supposed to be an interpreter from the site there.
