Yoi otoshi wo!!

Happy New year everyone..
I can't believe I went out and bought a tiny bottle of champagne for popping the cork at midnight. I love the taste, and haven't had it in years. (Who can afford this stuff..glad I got paid already!)

By the way, in the Japanese language.. "Yoi Otoshi wo" is said before New Years. After new years they say "Akemashite omedetou."

So Hoping you all have a safe and wonderful new year!!! (Remember don't drink and drive!)

I have eggnog 'cause I don't drink much. Never been a big partier on new year's eve, so I'm happy staying home counting my blessings. Heat, warmth, a nice place, gracious & supportive family & friends. Might watch a movie called Alan Partridge a bit later. Right now just chillin' and reading this great thread, the funniest political memes of 2014: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1016110314

We live in SoCal and this has NEVER happened since we moved here many decades ago. It's our wedding anniversary so this will make it a memorable one!

Happy New Year to all and be safe. We're so boring (or I like to think of it as mature) after all these years, so we're going to watch a movie and try to make it to midnight. I remember the days when we'd wake up on New Year's Day and find people passed out on our floor. VERY glad those days are over

Some things were too salty, some too sweet (even for the mother-in-law, and that's saying something), a truly disgusting greasy beef tongue pate and rock solid cashew nuts. I just remembered, they used to always put some shrimp in chili sauce in there, not this year. Oh well, the sake was just right.

I was skeptical but it was good. Round one is done, off the the shrine and then round two, three and four!

With some kotatsu time in between.
