Just Streamed "The Interview".............

North Korea has not crashed my router yet. And no terrorists have destroyed my local internet provider.

Streamed it on my Roku box through Google Play for $5.99. Whole family watched it.

We all laughed. It is not great, but worth $6 when there was 5 of us.

I give it 2.5 stars out of 5.

Many will hate it. Sort of crude.

I have an easy sense of humor. So I am entertained easily.

Glad Sony released it.

when *that* was a thing (my review? It was a torture flick). I have to know what to think in the mix of things. Well, I know about the free speech part, but want to know how good it is anyway to get the FRANCO jokes for the next year or two. Really, is he living a serendipidous career or what?!1

was great in both of those movies...(haven't seen Horrible Bosses 2 yet)...I generally don't watch alot of comedies (prefer action, drama, horror) but will go comedy route from time to time....

I do have "Sex Tape" in the Netflix que to see soon...I still never saw "40 yr old Virgin", "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"

I mean DAMN, they even got Obama to hold a White House presser on the event. I applaud your marketing Mr Rogen and Sony.

Of course NK didn't attack your computer. They're using a ten year old secondhand Gateway PC with a dialup connection that doesn't even work when it's cloudy outside. They're North Friggin Korea for shits sake.

But just like "Zack and Miri Make a Porno", or "The End of the World", i'll probably watch this in the next few days because i need something stupidly-funny to laugh at now and again...

And because little, dumb-haircutted, wanna-be megalomaniacs don't get to tell me what i can and cannot watch.

And will ignore it. The cast and concept are not appealing to me. I thought it was silly and implausible and several other negative adjectives.

They don't advertise it a whole lot because it is not a big part of their business, but they do have a YouTube movies page in which you can watch full length movies for a fee. I believe they started this a year or two ago.

compared to the money they are going to make. People have already forgotten about most of that. Anyway, as they say in Hollywood, any publicity is good publicity. People have already moved on to the newest press releases. Think about it - most Hollywood stars survive scandal quite well and often come out the other side with more notoriety than they had before the scandal. Either that or it's completely forgotten soon. Remember when Matthew Broderick killed someone in a drunk driving accident? Most people don't.

made 5 times that in a full theater release the first week. Remember, a whole family can stream it for $6, not $6 each.

Dumb and Dumber Too has made 84 million, and it has terrible reviews and

Sony would of made a lot more money with the original schedule.

I can still believe they would try. It may also be more of a long term strategy that involves other movies in the future. It might be their way of developing a net work to say fuck you to the major movie theater chains.

I thought they would probably delay it for a couple months and then have a huge theatrical release in 2015. It would have almost certainly filled up theaters if they had done so and they could have made boatloads of money. Instead they are releasing it to stream online for only $6 so an entire family can watch it for roughly half the price of a single movie ticket. From a financial standpoint it is a really bad decision, although I suspect Sony was more worried about the PR problem they were facing than they were about the financial success of this one movie.

It will open at one of them tomorrow and at the other one in January. I will probably go see it although our budget really doesn't allow for going to movies. We're more of a wait for it to show up in a Redbox family.
