Bobby Jindal at a Louisiana Prayer Conference:

Attributing the cause of hurricane Katrina to "homosexuals" is perfectly acceptable.

Attributing the cause of hurricane Katrina to global climate change is simply absurd.

A great example of the scientific reasoning skills of the Right Wing.

when you see him smiling away on Maddow or wherever.

Maybe that's because there're so fucking many wingnuts out there that none stand out, anymore. They've become the norm.

using whatever strategy is the most practical. By accident of birth, he ended up in Louisiana, so he's outwinging the wingnuts and outfundying the fundies. If he was somewhere else, he'd adopt different methods. He doesn't actually believe any of that bullshit. He's the ultimate pragmatist, not to mention being a sociopath. Like the typical sociopath, he has a superficial charm that worked well enough to get him elected, but not well enough to govern or maintain popularity, which is why his approval ratings in the state are well below 50%.

And like the typical sociopath, he doesn't really understand people. I'm quite sure he's mystified at why his pandering is so transparent to anyone with half a brain, and why his presidential campaign isn't catching fire. Even the Republican true believers see through him.
