(33,030 posts)SHEFFIELD-born rock star Joe Cocker has died after a battle with lung cancer. He was 70.
The star, who rose to fame in the Sixites, had hits with The Beatles song With A Little Help From My Friends and later, in a duet with Jennifer Warnes, Up Where We Belong
A long-time US resident, he died at home in Colorado.

(11,065 posts)Been listening to Joe Cocker on YouTube for a good hour or so now. "Cry Me a River" playing now... yet another fave. You just can't keep still listening to him. I'm surprised I've not yet fallen off the chair bobbing and rockin'. I'll have to play this song over again and get up and dance.
His greatest hits album (remember albums?) was one of the first I ever bought.
