Lose wind farm or lose my hotel, warns Donald Trump

US TYCOON Donald Trump will warn the Scottish Parliament this week that his plans to build a luxury hotel alongside his Aberdeenshire golf course will be axed if ministers back a series of “insane” wind turbines nearby.

The billionaire property developer will appear at Holyrood on Wednesday to attack the Scottish Government’s renewable energy proposals, accusing Alex Salmond of “destroying” the country’s natural heritage.

His championship golf course, ten miles north of Aberdeen, is scheduled to open as planned in July, but the entrepreneur’s senior representative said additional plans for a major hotel and housing development could not “co-exist” with an offshore wind farm planned for the coastal waters nearby.

George Sorial, vice president of The Trump Organisation, said: “If there is an industrial power plant on the shore line, the concept of having a luxury hotel and resort is simply incompatible. The two can’t co-exist.”

Sorial’s comments throw fresh doubt on the 500-hectare development, along with the job hopes of the thousands of workers which the Trump Organisation claims will be needed to build the entire project.

They see him as generating more wind than the turbines.

my greatgrandfather was Irish with a maternal bloodline that finds it's beginning in Little Cumbrae, Ayshire Scotland! I am VERY mixed and am what you would probably call "black". That's why I do not understand hatred based on anything other than a personal affront. LOL!! Whether we're aware of it or not, NONE of us are what we would call "pure" anything except human.

My family maintain ties with the European side quite closely.

If Trump doesn't want to build his hotel, he will lose money on the golf course.

On the other hand, some other investors may decide to build a hotel.

Let the Donald pull out and lose money on his golf course or let someone else build the hotel . . . I hope this is what happens.

What got my back up, was apart from the attitude that there's nothing my money can't buy. Was his personal attacks saying Mr Forbes lived in a slum. Not realising that Mr Forbes home is the norm for most rural working class Scots.

1. Fox News and talk radio would call Trump a champion of the people.

2. The municipality would publicly apologize and immediately cancel the project and pull all funding from the program.

3. The municipality would offer Trumps hotel an indefinite tax holiday.

4. The municipality would promise Trump that all labor would be welfare-to-work and minimum wage would be fair.

5. The schools in the area fail per lack of tax dollars. People become poorer and must rely on food pantries.

6. Trump is considered a successful businessman who should be celebrated.

Here's an article from June 2011:

Donald Trump has been forced to postpone his plan to create the "world's greatest" golf resort in Scotland, complete with five-star hotel and luxury villas, because of the global financial crisis.

The billionaire property developer flew into Aberdeen on Monday on his latest luxury jet, a Boeing 757-200 fitted out with a master bedroom and five kitchens, to announce that his championship standard 18-hole golf course overlooking the North Sea would open for play in July next year.

... the tycoon said that the full scheme, a £750m complex featuring a luxury hotel, Trump Boulevard, a golf academy, a second course and timeshare apartments, had been bunkered by the recession.

Trump said "the world has crashed" since he first bought the Menie estate and dunes in 2005, provoking a long-running battle with local residents, councillors and environmental groups about his proposals, which has involved heavily altering the legally protected rare dunes.

So convenient that he's found an excuse to justify yet another of his grand schemes collapsing, while covering his ass and getting a chance to do some grandstanding. Idiot.
