A group of more than 300 former campaign staff members for President Obama will release an open letter on Friday morning calling for Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts to seek the Democratic Partys nomination for president.
The signers each worked on Mr. Obamas successful White House campaigns or at his political organization, now called Organizing for Action, mostly in midlevel jobs as field organizers or as part of the campaigns groundbreaking data and technology efforts. They include Rajeev Chopra, who served as chief information officer for both of Mr. Obamas presidential bids; Catherine Bracy, who directed the 2012 campaigns tech field office in San Francisco; and Judith Freeman, who served as new media field manager on the 2008 campaign.
Their open support for Ms. Warren is a stark departure from the path taken by most senior Obama veterans, many of whom have attached themselves to super PACs and nonprofit groups helping to pave the way for Hillary Rodham Clintons likely presidential bid.
These former Obama staffers are joining the growing momentum behind Elizabeth Warren because we believe in Warrens vision for our country, and wed love to see her run in 2016, said Erica Sagrans, an Obama alum who now the campaign manager for Ready for Warren, a pro-Warren super PAC.

Interesting split in the Obama camp here. If she changes her mind she'll have some of the best tech support she could possibly get with team members like these. They were superb.

If I had to choose between Hillary and Elizabeth, Elizabeth wins hands down !!!
I will not vote for Hillary.
I will vote, but I will not vote for Hillary.
The only way I would vote for a Republican is from my casket.

(28,201 posts)While a Mormon came close to the Presidency--a Jewish president is highly unlikely, what with the animosity that many evangelicals hold about them. They mainly see the need for Israeli Jews to exist to fulfill the rapture. American Jews don't seem to count. Sure, they love Israel, but the people who live there... only if it means the second coming will occur.

(63,912 posts)While some may say these Obama staffers are just trying to line up their next job, it shows that there are top notch people ready and willing to work hard for her. That's a win/win in so many ways.
