She is not only an incumbent--and the Party backs incumbents, even Lieberman, she is the head of the DNC. So, if you think the party PTB (which term includes her) is impatient with her, you may want to think a bit more. And, if she is the candidate, it becomes the Hobson's choice of voting for her or not voting for her, which is especially Hobsonesque in a purple state.

And, if voters decide to punish her anyway, the Dem Party will assert that she lost because she wasn't far right enough and run someone worse the next time.

It's a very convenient self-contained, self-sustaining, self-perpetuated terrarium they've built for themselves.
