Shut down...

Do you think it will? Without action by congress it happens at midnight tonight... More of the same. Interesting to see E. Warrens actions on this. For context http://thehill.com/homenews/house/226855-pelosi-gop-doesnt-have-the-votes

In the short term, the Democrats would be in the majority opinion that bailing out the banks again is a very bad idea. The people are not with the Republicans on that one. They would lose in the short term in the public's eye if they did not try to pass something.

I remember when the only reason you stayed up half the night for political reasons was to find out who won the election. Now we know that before it happens and, instead, we stay up to find out if we even have a working government.

Fuck this insanity

political absurdity and polarization. Damn, this is a country to run, not some F'en sporting event. This congress is the grosses excuse for a body of elected officials I've even seen. It's full of incompetents, hotheads, loose cannons and those out for only themselves and their cronies. It doesn't come close to representing "we the people." As George Carlin would have said, it's a F'en rich man's club and we aren't part of it!

Last time that my name is included in the name of torture. In the name of illegal war. Just beyond sick of it.

Next election, you shouldn't be allowed to run if you can't pass a simple high school test on the Constitution and read everything published, at the time, about the founding of this nation.

Then a psychological test that shows you're not a racist, misogynist, bigot, sociopath, etc.

it's not going to be a pretty sight. Sooner of later their pushing of the envelope, is going to backfire on them big time. Bullies are always in danger of getting an ass whipping from the new guys and gals on the block. I think even some of the "sensible right wingers," will get pissed when they start getting stung by the teabilliy's venom.

And risk ticking off their corporate masters?

Then again, furloughed government workers are in the minority of the population and there isn't an election for 2 more years, so it's not much of a gamble.
