In the short term, the Democrats would be in the majority opinion that bailing out the banks again is a very bad idea. The people are not with the Republicans on that one. They would lose in the short term in the public's eye if they did not try to pass something.

political absurdity and polarization. Damn, this is a country to run, not some F'en sporting event. This congress is the grosses excuse for a body of elected officials I've even seen.
