I've heard it and read it - heard on various NPR news shows, read in newspaper articles.

So when we are attacked, instead of taking time to think it through, wait for the fog of misinformation to clear, our immediate reaction is to go bomb and kill and torture? And it is OK because the country was pissed off?

Sure the mood of a lot of the country after 911 was anger and a thirst for revenge. But shouldn't "the people" expect more from their leaders? I certainly do. I guess hoping for some deep thinking adults in the room to act appropriately was too much to ask.

But of course, most of us here on DU knew, and know, this. It doesn't make it any easier to swallow, though.

This is all so incredibly screwed up. No words here to explain how it all makes me feel.

I never thought of it as a foreign attack on America, an act of war. I thought of it as some kind of a black plot that many people were lying about.
