Dimson: "My job was to keep America safe"

Dimson:

"My job was to keep America safe, and I did it ! " (Just heard him say on MSNBC)

NO, YOU DID NOT !!

* RICE CLAIM: "I don't think anybody could have predicted that they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile." National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, 5/16/02

* FACT: On August 6, 2001, the President personally "received a one-and-a-half page briefing advising him that Osama bin Laden was capable of a major strike against the US, and that the plot could include the hijacking of an American airplane." In July 2001, the Administration was also told that terrorists had explored using airplanes as missiles. [Source: NBC, 9/10/02; LA Times, 9/27/01]

I love all the red herring about protecting the country. (He/They didn't.) After the attack that they didn't prevent, they proceeded to take apart the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Thanks to a dumbed down population, most of whom couldn't tell you what the Bill of Rights is. Wave the flag, ramp up the fear, tell the people to shop.

The only time I felt this badly about my country was the day the Abu Ghraib story broke. I just don't see the US/us getting any better.

Yike...reading this transcript brings back horrible memories

BEN-VENISTE: Did the president meet with the director of the FBI? RICE: We had a structural problem in the United States, and that structural problem was that we did not share domestic and foreign intelligence in a way to make a product for policymakers, for good reasons -- for legal reasons, for cultural reasons -- a product that people could depend upon.

BEN-VENISTE: Did the president meet with the director of...

KEAN: Commissioner, we got to move on...

BEN-VENISTE: ... the FBI between August 6 and September 11?

KEAN: ... to Commissioner Fielding.

RICE: I will have to get back to you on that. I am not certain.

never got on those planes, never got into the cockpits - we would be living
without this horrendous event in our lives.

Condi knew there could be a highjacking - but I heard her say one time that
"I thought it was just going to be a "regular" highjacking."

She insists on saying she could not have prevented a plane flying into
a building. She does this to obscure the fact that she could have
prevented this by preventing a "regular" highjacking.

Amazing she got away with this !!

She should be universally disgraced - doing time - not serving on
a NCAA committee.

River from Manhattan. Months after the attack she spoke
about how she couldn't sleep with the nightmares and sounds
that scared her.

I think about how Obama's leadership over the single act of eliminating Bin Laden must
have eased her mind to some degree. The minds of many
people who lived nearby. Only they know the true horror.

And it makes me abhor Cheney and Bush even more for disregarding these people
and putting Bin Laden's capture on the back burner - for one reason only --to keep a boogie man in
their back pocket to scare people. How detestable !
