Buzz Feed says:
"We Asked Brits To Label The United States Again, Because Its A Thanksgiving Tradition"
Last Thanksgiving we asked our London office to (try to) label all 50 states. The results were varied at best. A year on we decided to see if theyve learnt anything since then. Spoiler: They have not.
Be brave, click on it. But have depends and or Kleenex handy. I for one needed both.

Let Americans try to label European countries and beyond...
That would not even be funny. I am so sorry to feel that way.

(9,033 posts)and the last one is correct: maybe one American in a million could name even 5 counties in the UK, let alone locate them.
p.s. the movies/tv shows was the best! Even if he/she did misplace Fargo.

(37,573 posts)so naming counties in England is a little bit like being able to name counties in Louisiana - even people in Louisiana probably cannot do that. Although my dad says that as a kid in Wisconsin, he had to learn all of the counties of Wisconsin.

(135,425 posts)It's a hundred and some odd total and don't forget the six counties of Northern Ireland as well.
I wouldn't do very well filling out a map of UK counties, I'll admit--I'd be proud if I could find a third of them, on a good day...

(9,275 posts)Of course not! But it dosen't matter because the USA is the center if the world anyway, right?
Actually I know where Cornwall is as I have relatives there.

Merseyshire wasn't a separate county when I was a kid, and i don't think Bristol was either. I got about a quarter of them.

She still didn't appear convinced later.

(10,163 posts)It's not New England, and it's not the South, so by default it's the middle of the Atlantic seaboard. Just not that far south.

(53,999 posts)I couldn't name or place the counties in the UK. I used to know several, but it has been so long. I had friends from England, Scotland, and Ireland...and I love Torchwood and (the original) Being Human, so I know some Welsh locations. Of course, I know Americans who couldn't name and place all 50 states, so I don't really expect foreigners to know them.
