Seattle police officer who broke handcuffed woman’s eye socket with punch not charged

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/12/seattle-police-officer-who-broke-handcuffed-womans-eye-socket-with-punch-not-charged/

Seattle police officer who punched a handcuffed woman in the face while placing her in the back of his cruiser will not face charges, reports KIRO.

Officer Adley Shepherd has been on administrative leave after video taken in his cruiser showed him punching the woman, 23-year-old Miyekko Durden-Bosley, breaking a bone in her face as he arrested her after responding to a domestic abuse call....

Durden-Bosley can be heard calling the officer a “f*cking b*tch” before lashing out with one boot, reportedly kicking the officer in the chin. Shepherd is then heard saying “She kicked me,” before pulling the woman towards him and punching her once in the face before dropping her back down....

Following the altercation Durden-Bosley was transported to a hospital where doctors reported she suffered a fracture of an orbital socket. After being transported to jail, Durden-Bosley was released four days later with charges of resisting arrest dropped.

THIS is what an orbital fracture looks like.

...I'm drawing a blank here, except for the off-duty Harris County Reserve Deputy Constable who faces charges in a road rage incident and shooting.

HOUSTON- A reserve deputy constable with Harris County Precinct 6 has been charged with shooting a driver in a road rage incident earlier this month on the 610 South Loop, Houston police said.

Kenneth Caplan, 34, was arrested on Wednesday. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accused of shooting a woman and grazing her head. She was driving on the South Loop between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby on Nov. 11 when she was shot, according to Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith. She had non-life-threatening injuries, Smith said.

Caplan had fled the scene, but authorities found him at his home Wednesday and he confessed to shooting at the other driver, according to Smith. Caplan was not on duty at the time of the incident and wasn't wearing his uniform, according to a news release from the Precinct 6 constable's office.

"Precinct 6 neither condones nor tolerates the actions taken by Kenneth Caplan that connected him to this incident, and the necessary measures were taken to collect his credentials and remove him from our status," the release states. Caplan is in jail with a $200,000 bond, according to the Harris County District Clerk.
