Run Democrats that are like Republicans. Being a white Democrat from the south, I want Democrats you can't tell from Republicans. And since I'm a Democrat from the south, you know I hate minorities and unions. So send me all those lesser of two evils or better yet, write me off as you are discussing or like the party itself. You have the wisdom of God. Do this so I can write you off as well.

(22,271 posts)Plenty of people calling bullshit there. Quit listening to the Debbie Downers and start focusing on those of us who want to see South in play and think it can be done.

(29,718 posts)the little plebs who put them in office (or not, as it's been shown) When Blanche went down, the sentiment in AR was that it would be better to at least know who your enemy is, but yellow dogs voted for her, even though we didn't want her, but a democrat.

(23,730 posts)the two "sides" are "we have to double down on conservadems you can't tell from the GOP because of the Southern Strategy" and "we have to dump the South because we can only run conservadems you can't tell from the GOP there because of the Southern Strategy"
the obvious answer (that most DUers do back) is to fight the Southern Strategy, to go on the offensive for both economic and social liberalism, instead of pretending that Dems economically and socially conservative are being run because they're economically-or-socially-liberal-but-not-both (that it's a "hard choice" between these two types of liberalism--that assumes Minchin and Landrieu were at the forefront of LGBT or whatever)
