are there more right-wingers and idiots online, than left-wingers and intelligent people??

that must be the case. bec. everywhere I go the latter are out-numbered by the former.
why?
Maybe the left-wingers are out doing things instead of posting on a forum?

Righties have been nursing a grudge against "liberal media" since the Goldwater days, and have exported supporters to fight it, be loud and proud about their views, and to regard liberals as an enemy to be put down, not debated with.

I would have thot - here - that people who express r-w views or idiocy in general - would be challenged.

If there's something in particular that causes you to bring it up in your reply to me, you should probably be warned that I failed all my "mind reading" classes in school.

10. There shouldn't be any right wingers on DU

Whole purpose of DU was to have a place for democrats, liberals to discuss without having to deal with right wing trolls.

The left doesn't so much. They have lives, they do things in the real world, and aren't so committed to forum or discussion posts.

So I'd agree, the left are out doing things instead of posting on forums.

They tend to shy away from hateful forums, too, because, why bother.

7. Is the world, or even politics, unidimensional?

Moderate right wingers can be more appealing than 'progressive' bigots.

(even if there shu' as heck ain't no scarcity of scary dixie/baptist 'conservatives' out there)

Life is multidimensional, thanks to Nature and evolution.

(even so that it gets cranky at times: the 2002 Economy Nobel recounted that, as a jewish boy growing in some east European ghetto, he was once stopped by a Nazi officer. Presumably because he looked like his son, the Nazi officer -in tears- showed him the pic of his son and gave him some food. Crazy? Yes. Unidimensional? No.)

because they're unemployed or senile and have a lot more time on their hands.

Left or right has little to do with it, but it does seem to slant rightward in a lot of places.

Any time there's a site that deals with politics or current affairs and it's open to everyone to post, the right-wingers swarm and they're so abrasive and immune to facts that they quickly drive away liberals and moderates. I noticed it first on the BBC site (their "Have Your Say" message boards are frighteningly right-fringe) and it's been confirmed on Beliefnet, YouTube, even Discussionist. Happens every time; right-wingers swarm, drive off the liberals and moderates, then incestuous amplification kicks in and they get progressively more and more extreme.
