In a typical Friday news dump it was announced last night that Norm Wolfinger, the State Attorney for Seminole County, was not going to run for reelection. The announcement was reported here:

In the same link to the Orlando Sentinel, in the reader's forum, this popped up this morning:
"Thank God. Could it be because George Zimmerman's father just admitted today he talked to Wolfinger? It's SO obvious Wolfinger didn't prosecute Zimmerman for political reasons. GOOD RIDDANCE to a dirty corrupt pig."
Does anybody have any information to confirm that statement?

(46,720 posts)According to the letter, they may have met at the police station. I don't get the impression that a special phone call was made beforehand. Still don't know why Wolfinger appeared there in the first place. But I guess it's bad enough that he did appear where he may have met Zimmerman family members and the arrest was averted.

(46,720 posts)Norm will just be the first. Hopefully, once one of them goes down, they all go down.
Not likely, however, because it's an elected position and this County likes their legal authorities to give them wiggle room. The papers need to make a big fuss about public corruption, and I don't think that's going to happen in just the few months leading to the election. They've done a great job of keeping everyone focused on one kind of crime.
