Santa Clara Police Attack Fan At Pac-12 Championship Game

The guy did nothing wrong.

Here is a good example of how to not to police people, as seen at Friday's Pac-12 championship game. According to the video uploader, this confrontation started when the man in white walked down the wrong pathway. The situation then quickly escalated, for no clear reason. A lieutenant from the Santa Clara Police Department confirmed through email that the officers involved worked for the department.

Watch for yourself, but over the course of the video, an officer:

• quickly brandishes a taser, according to the person recording

• hits the man with a baton

• wraps his arm around the man's neck

• tries to take the man down in a headlock

• continues to hit the man with a broken baton

US cops have become just about the Nazi German SS! And they get a free pass by TPTB. I don't think RKP5637 Dec 2014 #4

The Cops are out of control ... anyone is a target. What kind of tactics are they using on American citizens? I said before and was heavily criticized for it, that most of our Police force are now ex-military. I am not against our Veterans in the least .... but they, as domestic Police, are using the same tactics as if they are back in a war zone, Iraq or Afghanistan. Please people, open your eyes to this big issue. These Vets need better training and if they can't adjust their behavior then the need to be fired. Simple, we don't need or want this type of policing.

But so far none of the bad stories involved a Veteran. I am not saying you are wrong at all, but just pointing out that none have been former military. I support the military too, but if your thoughts are true then perhaps steering them to a different career is better.

I was told by a reporter from the Washington Post, that personnel files of police officers are not open to anyone.... so we don't really know for sure if any officer who is involved in a violation of our Constitutional rights is ex-military ... but one must take into account that there are many "wannabes" (military) within the ranks that are very influenced by ex-military training tactics and thereby strive to be as tough as they mistakenly think is warranted. We do know that police departments across the US are actively recruiting ex-military, so called "Green to Blue" programs. I say great, we need to give priority to Vets .... but they need to have training to transition to civilian life and also be screened for PTSD.

it's by chance. There is a fear IMO by the establishment that people of all colors are getting too uppity! So, cops get a free reign to kill and maim people and to escalate trivial situations into violence often resulting in death. Toe the line or we will kill you or seriously mess you up is the message they want to impart to the masses. Does anyone really trust cops today?
