I remember watching this epic smack-down with my jaw on the floor.

(5,106 posts)In today's world) where Limbaugh can get away with his piggish, inane statements, and Hannity gets away with downright ignorance, cannot support Keith, or the much respected Phil Donahue, a tiger in support of his beliefs, but always an intellectual and a gentleman in defending them.

(11,076 posts)He is fired up and speaking out. If you need a fresh dose of KO check it out. Last week he even called Bill O the worst person in the sports world!

His rant on race relations and sports last night was just brilliant.

(451 posts)And not afraid to speak his mind. He used the term "mental dwarfs" in this rant. Unfortunately Washington DC is filled with mental dwarfs. We need some truly great lawmakers in this country. And they are in short supply.

(12,870 posts)(what I'd like to say to his face)
I'd tell you to go fuck yourself
But that is much too kind
Because if you could perform that feat
You'd take pleasure in your behind
I'd tell you to eat shit and die
But you deserve much more
You should suffer all the grief and pain
Of your misbegotten war
Though I can never make you feel
Or think, or understand
I'll take solace when you hear your name
Cursed throughout the land
From inside a lonely prison cell
Dark and bare and cold
Where every day you pay for your crimes
Until you're sick, heartbroken, and old
Then when you finally leave the earth
You fucked over oh so well
If there is a God and afterlife
You're going straight to hell.

(1,096 posts)Keith Olberman was the most effective voice against the bullshit of the right-wing. I was sorry to see him leave MSNBC and the prime time limelight.

(666 posts)Keith, I sure do miss you, America misses you and needs you back. How about we try to get Keith, Martin, Rachel, Lawrence, Randy Rhodes and any other liberals on FREE SPEECH TV. There is a network that could use the support and they already have the inter-structure to make the move to the big leagues, not only would they succeed, but they would become a force in America. So if any one is listening it could take some time, but lets get this done for the sake of AMERICA.

He'd fit on CNN in something like "Crossfire" where it's okay to argue, but that's about the only place he could hold a job on CNN. But MSNBC is the perfect place, their ratings are not that good, and Keith would only help.
I don't Twitter or Like. I hate them programs. But if I did use them, that would be the place to start a movement to get him back in the News on MSNBC.
Maybe you folks could start something over there (other than arguments) and see if being a pest over Olbermann meets with success.
I wonder what companies would be the best to email about sponsoring a program of his . . .

(15,805 posts)MSNBC must do something to boost its rating simply to remain competitive. Bringing back KO would produce instant buzz and excitement in a liberal audience that was more focused on his explosive and inciteful opinions than his backroom feuds with the PTB at MSNBC. MSNBC can fire more hosts and jockey around their scheduling, or try to plug their bleeding ratings with more dubious and vapid personalities like the young mr Russert or Farrow, but nothing drives viewer interest like conflict and controversy, and if he's anything, KO is a fire starter.
