I've been telling people on FB - we revolted because of taxation, why would we not revolt over murder?

They didn't like that a tax cut would allow the EIC to undercut the tea Hancock, et al, were smuggling in.

Twitter only gives one 140 characters. Tea is a lot less wordy than: American owned ships importing British tea.

The ships were built in America and owned by Americans, but the cargo of tea they were carrying from London to Boston was owned by the British East India Company. The Beaver and Dartmouth were built and owned by the Rotch’s, an affluent Nantucket Quaker family. The Eleanor was one of several vessels owned by leading Boston merchant, John Rowe.

And add to that tally the Peggy Stewart

The Peggy Stewart was a Maryland cargo vessel burned on October 19, 1774, in Annapolis as a punishment for contravening the boycott on tea imports which had been imposed in retaliation for the British treatment of the people of Boston following the Boston Tea Party. This event became known as the "Annapolis Tea Party"
