Eradicate Rats and Protect Hawaii's Stunning Endangered Forest Birds!

It's easy to talk about saving the environment, but harder to do something meaningful about it. More than half of Hawaii's endemic species have been lost to extinction in the past several hundred years, and many of the remaining species are still in danger.

Forest bird populations on Kauai are in steep decline, and rats are a primary culprit, eating eggs, young, and even adults; and competing with birds for food. Traditional methods of rat control, such as snap traps, are extremely labor intensive, and thus impractical in Kauai's rugged terrain. However a new, self-resetting trap made by Goodnature overcomes this issue. The goal of this campaign is to buy at least 25 Goodnature traps to establish a protected area for Kauai's forest birds. More traps would allow us to protect even more birds.

1. I would love to eradicate all the rats from Hawaii

However, I think it may be difficult to round up all the Conservatives in Hawaii. They often carry guns.

The mongoose population was brought to the islands for that very reason: to kill the rats. But the two creatures work different shifts, so never meet. The traps will do a better job.
