NYC, Chicago, a few other big cities...

But otherwise the country is pretty much on "business as usual".

I won't stand on a street corner alone in my little town in BFEGYPT , but I would like to add my voice to the outcry of injustice.

Any advice?

Here's one place to check for protests planned in your state (use Index button at left of screen):

Look for like-minded people in your area. I just took part in a protest my town which is not that big but is the state capitol.

Best you can do is what is in your ability. Feel proud that you are on the right side of history. I do.

But often in rural areas that means traveling a gazillion miles. I just would like to see the passion carried over into smaller towns. But then again, there is safety in numbers.

Here's the thing... I work at a high school in a small town, and I think the children there feel as much alienation as in big cities, but they have no way to express their frustrations. And I'm pretty sure there are thousands of small town kids who feel the same way.

Our police are thankfully kind and considerate of all the children ( they truly are the people we expect them to be), but even so, there are tensions, especially with what is going on in other places.

And can stand on the corner with others.

Some small town in Indiana did that. 6 of them stood on a corner with signs for justice. A picture of them circulated for days on Facebook and Twitter. People commending them. And the people who came to town were made aware.

How 'little' is your 'little town'?
