A Christian fundamentalist who specializes in exposing liberals and scientists (she equates the two) as frauds and doesnt mind looking really stupid doing it went deep behind enemy lines: She took a field trip to a science museum.
Convinced that Chicagos Field Museum of Natural History was engaged in a left-wing conspiracy to get kids to stop believing in Adam and Eve, Megan Fox (no relation to the Transformers actress) grabbed her camera and went there to see if she could ferret out sciences well-known liberal bias.
On her YouTube channel, where she frequently post videos about liberal bias, Fox explained her mission:
In November 2014, Megan Fox toured the Field Museums Evolving Earth exhibit to audit it for bias. She found many examples of inconsistencies and the Field Museums insistence that people support opinion as fact without proof. The Field Museum pushes certain theories as if they are absolute proven law when that is not how the scientific method works. She found enough bias to show that the people who put this exhibit together at the Field Museum pushed an agenda with quasi-religious overtones: the cult of science where the scientists are more like high priests pushing a religion instead of using the correct scientific method. Aside from having time machines, there is no way these people can be this certain about things they speculate happened millions of years ago before recorded history.

(And her last name is "Fox," too. Ha!)

(40,416 posts)3. PZ Myers blogged about this yesterday.
Here: Smug and Stupid
Of course, PZ is a developmental biologist, a professor at Univ. of Minn. so his take down is particularly caustic, with good reason.
A little sample:
<clip>
I watched the whole thing, appalled. Heres a summary of just the first few minutes if you get sickened by this, you dont need to watch the rest, its all the same.
Shes reading an explanatory panel at the start of the exhibit. It says,
At first, all eukaryotes were single-celled, and many still are today.
This baffles her. She hasnt heard of this word, eukaryote, before the camera man tells her how to pronounce it and shes already stumped.
"This makes no sense. No sense."
What makes no sense? Two billion years ago, all eukaryotes were single-celled. There werent any multicellular organisms yet. Frogs, people, salmon, and fruit flies all evolved much, much later. But yeast, paramecia, and algae, all single-celled eukaryotes, still exist today.
<Much more take down at link>
PZ is a gem. And the commenters on PZ's Blog, Pharyngula, rarely disappoint. Highly recommended.

(11,366 posts)5. Thanks for this.
After about 100th "this makes no sense," I couldn't take anymore (and I'm the OP!).
I'd much rather read what these folks have to say.

stupid" don't even begin to describe the arrogant ignorance of this perpetually low-information soul.
