Reagan And Bush Made The Same Immigration Move That Has The GOP Enraged At Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's anticipated order that would shield millions of immigrants now living illegally in the U.S. from deportation is not without precedent.

Two of the last three Republican presidents — Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush — did the same thing in extending amnesty to family members who were not covered by the last major overhaul of immigration law in 1986.

and the right wing lapdogs are out in force saying that is false. David Frum in the Atlantic is one of those jerks

In fact frum is ignoring the fact that Obama's acting on a congressional mandate from 1986 is not much different from Bush acting on a congressional mandate from 1986.

it is simply a hype machine for... IDK. They're terrible for science, the environment, business, economics, foreign policy... I don't know what the modern GOP does well. I guess the grift well. They are the party of grift. When the money dries from one scheme they come back with another in cycle after cycle. Why anyone votes for obvious scam artists is beyond me. But every grifter has a mug.
