You seem to imply that they will vote for the people who are calling them illiterate and trying to ship them back to other countries.

though to be fair that post was in 2012, giving it to 2022-2027 for Canada to be absorbed. Resistance is futile Canucks!

Mostly they are coming for economic reasons. In any event for many, many years Mexican and other Latino immigrants have tended strongly toward the Democrats. The Republicans have repeatedly expressed their disdain (and sometimes outright hatred) for these immigrants, and there is no sign that their attitude is ever likely to change, so whatever authoritarian or conservative attitudes some might bring with them is likely to be overcome by the realization that the Republican Party is not and never will be their friend in any sense of the word.

And, by the way, many immigrants are Catholic, and the Catholicism of Latin America, while socially conservative in some respects, tends almost toward Marxism economically. "Liberation theology" is anathema to the GOPers.

I'm not too worried. Your track record is about as accurate as Bill Kristol's.

CA leans left because of the pink tide-country voters from LatAM countries, actually.

The largest single source of immigrants by far is Mexico, which doesn't really fit either description.

edit: P.S. It's "authoritarian".
