Why Are Republicans Attacking President Obama Over Gas Prices?

I understand that one answer to my question can be, President Obama is a Democrat. My reason for asking that question is that despite the recent spike in gas prices, which has started to reverse, the record for high gas prices is not held by the Obama Administration. That record is actually held by the Bush Administration. During the Bush Administration gas prices rose to $4.40. Since gas prices during the Obama Administration have only gone up to about $3.95, prices during the Obama Administration are still about .45 cents lower than during the Bush Administration.

...which some say are a harbinger for even more expensive gas during the summer...and they assume it will top the $4.40 mark.

happen to thing the $4.00 mark is very 'sticky'; and, it is a big psychological barrier...and prices will not get much above $4.00 this summer, barring a disaster.

They wanted to hit him on the economy but it started to improve.
Foreign policy? there is nothing he has done wrong there, much of the world loves him and Americans because of him.
Domestic policy, you have seen the mommy wars, but they only have a short life cycle and it is already past.
They even tried doggy wars, OMG, he at dog meat when he was little boy? LOL.

The gas prices which are manipulated by speculation can inflict pain on the people. Couple that with the rhetoric and you have a brew that the GOP thinks can cripple the President in his bid for reelection.
