Remember it is New YORK POST: Weiner a jerk before crotchgate, craved media attention

Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner was behaving like a jerk long before the world got a glimpse of his crotch.

A new book offering an inside look at the US House of Representatives depicts Weiner as a desperately ambitious loudmouth who berated his staff and would do or say anything for TV airtime.

Weiner “would enter his office in the Rayburn Building screaming at the top of his lungs, ‘Why the f--k am I not on MSNBC?!’” journalist Robert Draper wrote in “Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the US House of Representatives.”

3. Scandals are often born from acts that are 100 percent legal

There are a million and one ways to ruin your reputation. It's not illegal to have a gambling problem, appoint your gay lover Homeland Security advisor, or tell Israeli Jews to go back to Poland and Germany. Yet Bill Bennett, Jim McGreevey, and Helen Thomas all paid prices for those things.

Weiner could have survived the scandal had he possessed halfway decent damage control skills.

Given my choice of stupid, I'd still pick Weiner over Issa, King, Cantor, Boehner, and the list goes on.

Stupid is NOT a disqualification for office. Damn shame so few of you noticed that.

weiner showed extremely poor judgement. i would expect better from our elected representatives to be sure. still getting a kick over the double-standard taken up by so many allegedly enlightened people.

13. Well, no, they couldn't have because Weiner was the representative of that district.

Also-rans don't get to take a seat in the House. All of the people I listed are current this term members of the House each representing with vast idiocy his own district. That's how the law works. I prefer Weiner's stupid which only hurt his wife to their stupid which hurts every one of us.

But you're entitled to make your own choices for whatever reason you like. STUPID ISN'T AGAINST THE LAW.

Although he did put himself in a position where he could be blackmailed by Briebart.

He didn't do anything illegal should not be the standard for serving in congress.

Weiner was one of the biggest advocates for the President's Healthcare Reform Act. He even had the temerity to tell Mr. Obama how to "sell" the legislation.

I don't care if he did it for his ego or for his country. He did it.

The guy seemed to crave the spotlight.

Nothing bad about that. Most political people crave attention.
