Dog Wars Escalate: Barack Obama Ate Dog Meat

Looks like Romney has appointed a task force for the Dog Wars. 100's of jokes going viral and this.

Hitler finds out Obama ate his Dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nEBN8wOKjMo

From HuffPo:

The story goes like this: In 1983, Romney strapped the family dog's crate to the roof of the car for a 12-hour drive from Massachusetts to Canada because there was no room in the car. During the trip, the dog, an Irish Setter named Seamus, suffered the "runs," as Ann Romney put it this week. Her husband coolly pulled over to hose off the dog and the car, then kept driving.

When the anecdote came out, Alabama resident Scott Crider launched an online group called Dogs Against Romney, which now has 48,000 fans on Facebook and has sought to keep the Seamus story in the news this year, with increasing success thanks partly to Rick Santorum, who was happy to bring it up.

Eating dog meat in Indonesia might be less unusual than giving your dog a roof ride in America (several people on Twitter 'fessed up to having eaten dog abroad on Tuesday), but conservative media have seized on the story. "Say what you want about Romney, but at least he only put a dog on the roof of his car, not the roof of his mouth," Treacher wrote. "And whenever you bring up the one, we’re going to bring up the other."

Team Romney, which has been mostly sullen and quiet about Seamus, seems to like Treacher's idea. In January, Obama campaign honcho David Axelrod tweeted a photo of Obama's dog, Bo, riding in the president's armored limousine, with the caption "How loving owners transport their dogs." On Tuesday evening, Romney campaign spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom retweeted Axelrod with the comment, "In hindsight, a chilling photo."

This Goof says he'll bring up Obama eating a dog whenever we talk about Rawmoney's dog on the roof of his car. MAD!

Of course there is no proof that he did in fact eat a dog. Do they actually eat dogs in Indonesia? Or are we seeing the typical Republican racisim/xenophobia that is the soul of the Republican party?

When I visited Thailand, my nephew tried to get me to eat maggots off a tree. He said they were awesome. Nope. I don't do that. There were all sorts of menu items at restaurants that I wouldn't touch. But this isn't what this story is about. Rmoney is 100% American. He is like my rich brother, afraid of foreigners, so he never immerses himself in other cultures. Obama, otoh, was relating to his life immersed in other cultures. Where eating snakes and vermin and, yes, DOGS, was pretty common-place. The GOP can't separate the two, because the GOP is just like my rich brother who never leaves his comfort zone. He won't go visit my sister in Thailand, because Thailand is "scary." So he'll be the one who will recoil at the horror of Obama eating dog meat in a country where eating dog meat was perfectly normal. At the same time, he'll relate to Rmoney for not wanting the smelly dog INSIDE his $70,000 SUV (one of several), scratching up the leather interior and stinking up the joint. It's only a fucking DOG. Strap it to the roof...if the straps come undone and he blows away, we'll buy another one. What are you people bitching about?

I'm not even kidding. I've got one of these douchebags in my family.

since he returned to Hawaii to live when he was 11.

Romney was 36 yrs old when he tied a dog to the roof-

There is hardly any comparison.

I ate venison as a kid, and frogs legs too- not by choice.
I don't see how people can equate what Pres. Obama ate as a child, with what Romney knowingly did as a mature, wealthy adult.

no comparison imo.

tortured a dog with his friend.

Those inclined can really whoop it up over that , as well.

Those of us who feel sorrow over the suffering of helpless creatures see right through this filthy level of searching for new ways to smear the President.

As everyone knows, a child eats whatever is given to him by a trustworthy adult. They simply have no choice in the matter, they are unaware of the implications, being children, and they hope to keep in the good graces of their elders.

Why you want to keep attention on this story is unfathomable.

on this story/attempt to compare that with Romney. On MSNBC today, when Thomas Roberts mentioned both this story and Seamus's ordeal, the 3-person panel all talked about how some people who have dogs as pets may see it as a negative trait of Romney's but didn't even comment on the dog meat story.

they eat what adults tell them to eat. That's entirely different than a grown man sticking the family pet on the roof of the car for 12 hours.

God only knows the things I ate as a child. I am 100% certain that I ate squirrel at one point, and snake and frog were not off the menu, either.
