The Republicans will bring it up in January. Senator Landrieu might not be there, but her successor will vote for it just as fast as she did.

The Repubs won't have a 60 vote majority in January and the Dems who are voting for it now, like Mary Landreiu who voted for it to shore up her on-going election campaign, will likely not vote for it in January. The reason this was brought for a vote was simply to support the Dems who are still in senate campaign fights.

Either way, if it were to be passed by the next Senate it would be veto'd by Obama and there is no where near the required 66 votes in the Senate to over-ride a veto.

in January:
Carper (Del)
Bennet (Colorado)
Donnelly (Ind.)
McCaskill (Missouri)
Tester (Montana)
Heitkamp (N Dak.)
Warner (Virginia)
Manchin (W. Virginia)
Casey (PA)

The other Dems who voted YES will be gone (assuming Landrieu loses).

When he said the bill would be taken up like January 1st at 12:01am he looked like he was ready to put on the boxing gloves with Harry Reid. Did he even get permission to speak? What a fuckhead.
