NFL Suspends Adrian Peterson for Rest of Season

It has just been reported that the NFL has suspended Minnesota Vkings running back Adrian Peterson without pay for the rest of the 2014 season. Peterson will not be considered for reenstatement in the NFL until April of 2015.

1. The NFL is in some serious trouble now

They have enjoyed the ability to operate with essentially no social conscience for decades and that era is ending. They are getting hit on all fronts, including the despicable disregard for players' health. They are starting to understand that if they don't take some very aggressive actions, they could quickly become the Phillip Morris of the early 21st Century.

And here's what they should be coming to realize: They don't need people like Adrian Peterson, Bruce Levenson, Richie Incognito and Ray Rice. Throw those bastards overboard. If they do that consistently, the others will quickly realize that it is very risky to have thugs and racists on your roster (or in the ownership suites).
