Nothing says "Happy Birthday" quite like tree stumps

Trump Throws Ann Romney Birthday Bash With Equestrian Cake

Donald Trump is known for throwing lavish parties, but at the birthday bash he threw for Ann Romney today, it was the birthday cake that stole the show.

The cake, created by celebrity chef Buddy Valastro, of the TV show “Cake Boss,” is topped with a sugar-coated Romney riding atop a horse standing in a field of green frosting. Romney is an avid horseback rider and often goes riding to soothe the symptoms of her multiple sclerosis.

A field of green frosting - and 3 tree stumps. Huh? Is Buddy Valastro known for being completely bonkers? Or was this a bizarre order from Trump, to take attention away from his unconvincing wig?

Tree stumps aside, I have seen better looking cakes, even equestrian themed, at the effing grocery store. On edit, I mean I can't believe a top chef would put that out as an example of his work. It isn't exactly one I would put in my portfolio.... and I wonder how much he was paid to create it.

As is practically always the case with the short-fingered vulgarian,* the quality of whatever product he's buying is secondary (at best) to having a big name (The biggest! None bigger!) attached to it. Yeah, the cake looks like an amateur offering from Cake Decorating 101, maybe 201. But it's Buddy Valastro! The Cake Boss! A star!

It is just stunning to me... I know two very talented bakers who could have knocked that theme right out of the park and amazed all comers, for less than 100 bucks.
