Obama Met With Ferguson Activists Said Hes Concerned They Stay on Course
"Some of the national leaders met with President Obama on Nov. 5 for a gathering that included a conversation about Ferguson.
According to the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has appeared frequently in St. Louis with the Brown family and delivered a speech at Mr. Browns funeral, Mr. Obama was concerned about Ferguson staying on course in terms of pursuing what it was that he knew we were advocating. He said he hopes that were doing all we can to keep peace.

(16,286 posts)Wait, there hasnt been ONE , so does he get any credit for that?
Every single last person who supports Wilson is a racist and hates Obama solely for skin color and funny sounding name.
Every single last one.
Anyone who can listen to witness after witness describe a shooting from 20 feet away while either surrendering or stumbling around due to injuries, and say justice is being done if there is no indictment, is either a racist or someone who doesnt care about justice.

(13,390 posts)For sure! The goal many of us have tomorrow is to keep people most feared in this country safe. We feel like we have to get between black men and the Klan\between black men and police.
It has only become clear to white people recently what kind of risk our friends and family members live with when they are not white. Social media has been good for getting the word out about these killings. If not for that, I don't think so many of us would have been aware of these incidents.
More white people interact with people of color now than during the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. They are our friends and part of our families. With social media and a public more educated about these events, I think we will see something much larger than what we saw in the 60s. Some argue that Emmet Till was the main catalyst of the civil rights movement. Despite that progress, it keeps happening and young men are being executed for alleged shoplifting or other minor offenses, and even non offenses like reaching for a wallet.
This. must. stop!

(16,286 posts)and FAR FAR more effective than any violence.
If we ALL get on the media together and say NO MORE and say it loudly, those rightwingers will wish the violence had occurred, because the nonviolent statement of a hundred million Americans will be much worse for them.
We need to start it on twitter

(13,390 posts)Mine is that this is what people in MO are reading. The pre-verdict propaganda will play a role in shaping how this turns out.
