FAIR: In last 8 months (6/11-2/12), Sunday morning talk shows have been 70% GOP, 92% white, 86% male

http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=4514

While you might expect to see a lot of Republican candidates and their surrogates in the thick of a Republican primary contest, the four Sunday morning talk shows—ABC’s This Week, NBC’s Meet the Press, CBS’s Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday—have been extraordinarily friendly terrain for the right, as a new FAIR study documents.

-snip-

Single-source interviews are the showcase segments on the Sunday shows, which tend to compete for access to guests they consider the top newsmakers—which, in the world of Beltway media, usually means politicians. In the eight-month study period, partisan-affiliated one-on-one interviews were 70 percent Republican—166 guests to Democrats’ 70.

-snip-

Men overwhelmingly dominated one-on-one interviews, at 86 percent: 228 male guests compared to 36 women. Meet the Press featured the fewest women, with just six female interviewees—three of whom were Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), the presidential candidate.

Guests were also also ethnically homogeneous, with 242 white interview guests (92 percent of the total), 15 African-Americans (seven of whom were Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain), four Arabs or Arab-Americans, and three Latinos.

I don't watch them anymore. I have plenty to keep me busy watching MSNBC on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It's a breath of fresh air!

doesn't realize that our fourth estate is basically dead. Ya'll worried about those commies and how the poor soviets were fed that dangerous propaganda? What a laugh!!!

The corporate media truly does catapult the propaganda, and right before election. How do you think little boots was able to steal the election. Warned by the SEC (of course the head was poppy's friend) that selling could be considered insider trading, little boots didn't even get a slap on the wrist. So, it briefly comes up and his answer "my MIL lost money." What kind of answer is that? He made martha stewart look like a saint with her trading snafu. Then, there's the drug thing. Nope, can't answer that might influence the kiddies. His military records, his sealed driving record-non-issue. If he was a democrat, the media would have been screwing him, just like they did to kerry. Oh, and we all just want to have a beer with an arrogant, mean drunk. But, enough people bought into the media hype. Not to mention, his record as governor. And, it wasn't pretty.

So, now the media on all networks are playing anything, like the GSA shite, before the election. and it's played over and over again, until I'm sick of seeing it. Just like they spent all of our money on clinton's dick (and I'm no fan of clinton); yet, nothing on poppy's sexual alleged escapades.

The media greatly influences the herd against their own interests.
