Ann Romney The Dog got sick because we gave him spoiled meat .....

.... not because he was scared witless being tied to the roof of the car.

http://www.nj.com/njvoices/index.ssf/2012/04/mitt_and_ann_romneys_dog_on_ro.html

"The dog loved it," she told Sawyer, claiming Seamus would leap up into the carrier whenever the
family traveled (suggesting, perhaps, that the roof-strapping technique was employed more than once).

And the diarrhea, which commentators have attributed to the dog's terror?

"He ate the turkey on the counter. I mean, he had the runs," she said, laughing. "He would see that
crate, and he would go crazy because he was going with us on vacation.

********

Bull crap story Ann. Dogs have good noses and can tell when meat will be bad for them.

They're forever dragging bits of deer, well, aged dead mice, etc. home for snacks. God knows what delicacies they're eating out there that they DON'T bring home.

Dogs will eat some things that will make them sick

Such as bones for the marrow and then later throw up the bone chips
and they will eat things that smell real bad and would make you or I
ill but in many cases it doesn't effect them. I have often given my dogs
old meat which they seem to love but in a very few cases if the meat is
well past its prime they will pass on it .... but if they were really hungry
or in the wild I guess they would have eaten it.

I have found that younger dogs if you switch their brand of kibble sometimes
tend to overeat (if given the chance) and get the runs.

BTW I doubt that older turkey meat could have given Seamus the runs.

perfectly good human food and then have the runs. They only get dry dog food so when they do get human food, their systems react. But more interesting to me is that Ann Romney remembered exactly what the dog had eaten all those many years ago. Not very likely.

I am really starting to think that the Romneys don't have a self aware bone in their bodies. They just don't have any inkling of how a normal person hears what they say.

Before I could get to him, he ate it. Never had any effects at all from it.
Edited to add this:
If that meat Romney's dog ate was bad enough to make the dog sick, what in the hell was it left sitting on the counter for that long? It had to have been there at least a week or more.
I takes pretty rancid food to make a dog sick.

back when I was a kid, we gave the dogs the scrapings from some ravioli that we were eating. He loved that, but later in the car, he had the runs all over the place.

Nothing wrong with the food, or his nose, but he still ate somethng that made him sick.
