SANFORD -- George Zimmerman wants to meet with Trayvon Martin's parents.
During a one-on-one interview Wednesday, attorney Mark O'Mara revealed Zimmerman wants to meet with the family of the 17-year-old he shot and killed in February.
O'Mara did not explain why his client wants the meeting, but said is that if it were to happen, it would be private -- just Zimmerman and Trayvon's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton.
"I've talked a couple of times about the conversation that, hopefully, will occur directly to the Martin family, a private conversation," said O'Mara. "To the community, I think he would just say don't prejudge him."

(21,977 posts)The man who has, since then, lied about what happened?
The only reason I can think of is so they can spit in his face. But I think they are too good to do that.

(18,795 posts)I think Mark O'Mara should not allow the meeting.
I think the parents should say wait until after the trial.

(8,582 posts)Isn't that what Zimmerman did to Trayvon? And this jackass wants to tell the parents this?

(99,710 posts)But he is more stupid than evil. Too bad he had a gun. Because his stupidity cost a young man his life and him his freedom.

(99,710 posts)Too bad he had a gun. Without a gun he could harbor his Dirty Harry and Paul Kersey fantasies in his suburban enclave and nobody would have been hurt.

(4,340 posts)I think those around him, those who are publicly defending him know he's a dipshit, know he's not too bright, and THEY'VE been lying their asses off to protect him. Saying what they think they have to say. Who knows what GZ is thinking now. But I sincerely believe that GZ is a true dumbass who shot a kid to avoid getting his assed whipped, and now feels deep remorse about it. He's just an immature man-child who was entrusted with a handgun by the state of Florida. Just my two cents.

(99,710 posts)I don't think he was any more or less racist than your average American but he did harbor a suspicion of young African American males. Fine, lots of folks are suspicious of those who look or act differently. But you don't follow them around in the dark. At that point they have every right to be as suspicious of your motives as you were of theirs. And in this instance his suspicion was totally unwarranted.
If it wasn't for guns in the hands of morons Trayvon would be taking his SAT right about now and Zimmerman would be looking for the next "crime" to solve.
