Fox anchor apologizes for smiling at Castro, denies being smitten by him

http://babalublog.com/2012/04/foxnews-david-asman-pulls-an-ozzie-guillen-apology-that-is/

(Estela Bravo's candid camera caught Asman(then with the Wall Street Journal) outdoing most of his lunchmates...(starts at 2.10 in video) )

FoxNews David Asman writing in today's Washington Times:

I have to respond to an ill-informed attack (“Strike Two for Ozzie Guillen,” Commentary, April 12) by Humberto Fontova that associated me with apologists for Fidel Castro. The attack was based on a picture taken in 1995 when Fidel Castro came to the Wall Street Journal, where I worked covering Latin America for 12 years.

"Do I regret smiling at the dictator as I shook his hand in 1995? Yes, absolutely."

This intransigent stands by his article. My "attack" was simply to write about "an obviously smitten David Asman asking for Castro's autograph." I invite a jury of readers to study the picture and the video (in fact no picture of this incident seems to exist except the one on Babalu blog, which was captured from a video) and determine if my term fits the incident. I didn't claim he was perpetually smitten with Castro, simply that at the time he asked for Castro's autograph he sure looked smitten.
